Meet INSEAD Faculty in AI

Professor

Phanish Puranam

Phanish Puranam is Professor of Strategy and the Roland Berger Chaired Professor of Strategy and Organisation Design at INSEAD. His influential research focuses on organisation science—specifically, how organizations work and can be improved. A central theme is the role of intelligent algorithms as tools (like ML on data), teammates (human-AI collaboration), and templates (e.g., blockchain). He is the author of several key books, including The Microstructure of Organisations. Puranam directs INSEAD's Transforming Your Business with AI programme and holds a PhD from Wharton.

Professor

Theos Evgeniou

Theos Evgeniou is Professor of Decision Sciences and Technology Management at INSEAD and Director of the Executive Education program, Transforming Your Business with AI. With nearly 30 years of expertise in Machine Learning and AI, his focus areas include business process optimization, decision-making in Finance and Marketing, and AI regulation. His extensive research appears in prestigious journals like Science and Nature Machine Intelligence. He is a member of the OECD Network of Experts on AI, advises the World Economic Forum, and holds four degrees, including a PhD, from MIT.

Professor

Ville Satopää

Ville Satopää is Professor of Technology and Operations Management at INSEAD and directs the Executive Education programs AI for Business and Transforming Your Business with AI. He holds a PhD in Statistics from Wharton, University of Pennsylvania, and is an applied Bayesian statistician. For 15 years, his research has focused on forecasting—covering statistical methods, crowdsourced predictions, and prediction evaluation. His practical work spans applications in healthcare, tourism, and urban crime. He consults for top financial and manufacturing firms on AI strategy and was named to the Thinkers50 Radar cohort in 2024.
