Led by INSEAD
This session focuses on the strategic approach to building an agentic organisation. Drawing on insights from an OpenAI case study and real-world applications across industries, participants will examine the strategic logic of where to deploy AI and the optimal governance needed to keep a growing portfolio of initiatives aligned. The core objective is to close the gap between experimentation and value—moving from a fragmented collection of proofs-of-concept to material impact at scale.
The afternoon shifts focus to the critical change management required to achieve true transformation. Many ambitious initiatives fail not from flawed strategy or technical issues, but from an inability to foster the leadership mindset and agility needed to orchestrate change at scale. Through a competitive group simulation exercise, an Uber case study on organisational inertia, and practical framework discussions, participants will learn how to design adaptable organisations and lead large-scale change while avoiding common implementation traps.
Led by Preface
This session translates the latest AI development landscape into a practical enterprise roadmap. Using OpenAI’s Five Stages of AI Development, participants will distinguish where today’s AI capabilities sit, what is realistically implementable inside organisations, and what remains more futuristic or consumer-facing.
The session will also differentiate Five Types of AI Agents, from custom bots and workflow-based agents to increasingly autonomous systems, helping leaders assess where agentic AI can create value without overextending governance, security or operational readiness. Hands-on challenges will follow to help consolidate leaders’ understanding of how AI agents work and can be applied in organisations.
The afternoon shifts from AI capability to organisational design. Participants will gain hands-on experience in building advanced AI agents, while learning the practical differences between AI, AI agents and human workers. Through applied exercises, they will explore when to deploy AI versus when to preserve human judgment, how to plan the right human-agent ratio across different functions, and how employees should upskill for an agent-enabled workplace.
The session will also cover the building blocks of digital replicas and digital employees, including agent instructions, context engineering, operating guardrails and governance principles needed to lead future AI-enabled organisations responsibly.

Jason Davis is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Family Enterprise at INSEAD. He is an expert on digital transformation and innovation in large enterprises and the strategies of startups in digital platform ecosystems. His research has focused on issues of collaboration and adaptation by 'big tech' computing companies in Silicon Valley and Seattle, fast experimentation by mobile app ventures on the iPhone and Android platforms, and the social media strategies of the Fortune 500 companies using Twitter and Facebook. He applies these insights to large organizations as they seek to create value with new digital technologies and systems like artificial intelligence, automation, platform-marketplaces, blockchain, and super-apps, and to new ventures in his MBA courses on Digital Entrepreneurship and Crypto Entrepreneurship.
