To train up talents in the Data Science and AI field for Hong Kong, we were invited by HKSTP to design a first-ever 36-hour intensive DeepTech training for young professionals and students who want to pursue a career in AI and Data Science.
Client Overview:
The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP)’s mission is to create a vibrant innovation and technology ecosystem to deliver social and economic benefits to Hong Kong and the region, and to build a future abundant with innovative opportunities for the younger generations. HKSTP holds various talent initiatives to help nurture DeepTech skills in AI, data science and other areas of tech expertise.
Client’s Goal:
Through this new initiative, “DeepTech Talents Training Programme”, HKSTP aims to develop a pool of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science talents who will graduate from the programme being job-ready at leading tech companies in Hong Kong.
Through the 36-hour training program, HKSTP aims to:
Enhance the technical knowledge of candidates, specific to the area of Python and Data Science, Machine Learning and Computer Vision
Educate candidates on Artificial Intelligence technology and its role and applicability in business
Inspire creative solutions using widely accepted industrial Artificial Intelligence tools
Equip candidates with industry-relevant hard skills and job-ready soft skills
Our Solution:
To prepare participants for real life career opportunities, we designed a comprehensive and dynamic 12-session training programme for individuals interested in AI and Data Science, with participants ranging from undergraduates, Master and PhD students, as well as young professionals. A majority of candidates started the programme with no prior experience, but through our learner-centric teaching style and engaging content, our experienced trainers equipped candidates with the most in-demand tech skills and knowledge. These included Python programming, A.I, Machine Learning, along with Computer Vision and other more advanced data science concepts.
Through case-studies like “How to Web Scrape Data’ from any site like Nike for competitor analysis and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) classification with animals, our programme content was meticulously designed to be diverse and relevant to the real world, encouraging participants to apply their newly gained skills in real business scenarios.
By the end of the program, teams brought together a consolidation of what they’ve learnt, applying their knowledge through the implementation of Deep Learning mini-projects. Shortlisted individuals were invited to job and internship opportunities in tech firms across Hong Kong, achieving HKSTP’s mission to expand the pool of quality-assured local tech talents.
