By enrolling or subscribing into any products or services offered by Preface Holdings Limited and/or any of its related companies, subsidiaries or affiliates (hereafter referred to as “Preface, “we”, “us”, “our”), including but not limited to programs and bootcamps, the customer acknowledges and agrees to our Terms and Conditions as specified below:


Preface reserves the right to refuse the admission of any student who, in Preface’s opinion, does not meet the minimum requirement for courses, may impact the learning of other students in its campus and any third-party locations, and/or impact the teaching of Preface’s Nomad Teachers.

Preface reserves the right to discontinue a student’s enrollment at any time due to, including but not limited to, non-payment of tuition in part or in full, disruptive behavior in class at any places where classes are conducted, negative impact on other students’ learning and/or the Nomad Teacher.

Enrolment is only confirmed upon successful payment and completion of the student registration form.

For Boot Camps, hereafter bearing the meaning of group classes with more than 1 student, Preface reserves the right to reschedule a student’s enrollment at any time for any one-person class.

Preface reserves the right to change any pre-assigned Nomad Teacher for any lesson as deemed appropriate or necessary. For 1-on-1 private classes, clients shall be notified of such change prior to class via email or phone. For Boot Camps, Preface is not required to provide prior notice for such arrangements.

Enrollment in any courses offered by Preface may be subject to pre-assessment to determine a student's suitability to enroll in any lessons.


Tuitions are non-refundable once the student’s placement has been confirmed.

All tuition fees must be settled before the class commences. Preface reserves the right to withdraw or preclude any student from attending any class if the course fee has not been settled.

Tuition must be paid at the time of registration via cash, cheques or other online payment methods available at that time. Preface reserves the right to change or decline any payment method without prior notice.

Preface reserves the right to change, including but not limited time, course fee, course content, course materials and/ or structure, at any time without further notice. For the most up-to-date tuition fee and course details, please refer to the rates as published on our website, brochure and/or printed leaflets, or on our latest published amendment.

Tuition fee may comprise a package of classes and/or hours as indicated on our website or brochure. No pro-rata payment will be accepted unless otherwise specified or agreed in writing as provided by Preface.

Promotional discount is limited to one discount per student and is required to be paid the full at the time of registration to receive the published discount rate. Preface will not honor retroactive adjustments and the total discounts received cannot exceed the total cost of the products and/or purchased. Preface reserves the right to amend or change our promotional policy any time without further notice.


Students are required to bring their own device and charger to class:

  • ScratchJr - Tablet, preferably iPad
  • Scratch, App Inventor, and other courses - Mac or Windows Laptop

Should there be any assistance needed, students are welcome to contact Preface via live chat at, and place your request in advance.

An administration fee of HK$200 is required for the requests below:

Borrow any devices within 48 hours (e.g. Laptop / iPad / Charger)
Re/Schedule a class within 48 hours
Attend or book an unpaid class

  • All devices must be returned after class


To form a private group class, on top of the group fee, an additional tuition fee of HK$100 per student for each arranged lesson is required. The class arrangement is subject to Nomad teacher availability.


For classes that are cancelled due to unexpected public health and safety warnings, such as flu outbreak, any other contagious diseases, school suspension announced by the EDB, or other safety concerns, Preface, at a reasonable time, will try its best to accommodate the majority of make-up classes but with no guarantee.

In the event of class postponement or cancellation caused by the above circumstances, no refunds will be made, and all tuition fees paid will be carried over to another boot camp, or used towards 1-on-1 private classes where private lesson rates apply.

For all In-person private classes and group private classes, while class dates and times are of the students’ preference, the following cancellation policy applies:

  • Private group classes must be cancelled as a group, e.g. if 1 student is absent, the group class should be rescheduled.
  • If the group decides to continue as normal, make-up class is not available for the absent student(s) and no tuition fees will be credited.
  • If the class is cancelled 48 hours in advance, full tuition fees will be credited.
  • If the class is cancelled between 48 and 24 hours before class, half tuition fees will be credited.
  • If the class is cancelled within 24 hours of class start, no tuition fee will be credited.

Tuition fees will only be refunded when the enrollment is not accepted or classes are cancelled by Preface.

For boot camps, no make-up classes will be arranged for any unattended classes. Also, no cancellations and refunds are allowed;

  • Preface reserves the right to make any changes to the courses including curriculum, class size, class time, number of classes at any time as Preface sees fit.
  • Parents and guardians are solely responsible for the safety of the students before and after class. Students are not required to notify Preface when leaving any premises where the classes are arranged.

Typhoons - In-person and Door-to-Door Classes

Rainstorms - In-person and Door-to-Door Classes

Online classes

Classes are conducted as usual regardless of the weather conditions.

Hybrid learning is a synchronous educational model where some students attend the class in person and some attend virtually from home.

For any classes that are cancelled due to bad weather, i.e. Typhoon Signal No. 3 replaced by a higher warning signal in less than 2 hours, Preface at a reasonable time, will try its best to accommodate the majority with make-up classes but with no guarantee.


Classes missed without proper notice will not be credited. Improper use of sick leave may result in disciplinary actions (e.g. refusal to issue a certificate from Preface).

In case of sickness absence, students should notify Preface via live chat at Students must present a valid doctor’s note, and notice submitted:

Preface In-person Private Classes & Group Private Classes

  • 2 hours prior to class, full tuition fees will be credited;
  • Within 2 hours of class start, half tuition fees will be credited;

Boot Camp

Under normal circumstances, make-up classes are not available for boot camps. As a gesture of goodwill, Preface will try its best to arrange a make-up class in order to help the student keep up with the learning progress. However, the arrangement is subject to class availability, with no guarantee.

Preface Regular Course 2021 - 2022

Ninety percent (90%) of attendance is required for all regular courses. Students, who are unable to fulfill the requirement, will not be awarded the completion certificate.

  • In each term, with a valid doctor’s note presented, a maximum of two complimentary make-up classes can be arranged for sickness absence, subject to the availability of class and instructor.
  • Complimentary make-up classes are not applicable to personal leave.
  • To ensure learning outcomes and fulfill the 90% attendance requirement, In-person private classes must be arranged, at the student’s own cost.
  • Students, who start the term late, are required to attend In-person private classes in order to keep up with the learning progress and ensure the attendance requirement is met.
  • Preface reserves the right to make any changes to the curriculum, class size, class schedule, and a number of classes where Preface sees fit.
  • Improper use of sick leave may result in disciplinary actions (e.g. refusal to issue a certificate from Preface).


Preface, at all material times, shall not be liable for any items or properties being lost or stolen at any of Preface’s locations for any reason whatsoever. Student agrees to be solely responsible for taking care of his/her own personal belongings at any of Preface’s locations.


Parents, Students and Nomad Teachers agree to not reproduce, distribute or show to any other person, in whole or in part, any of the class materials, lesson notes, assessments and tests distributed by Preface without the prior written consent of Preface. Any person is not permitted to solicit or make private arrangements for tuition with any Nomad Teachers, either employed or introduced by Preface.

Preface reserves the right to change the T&C at any time without prior notice. In the event that any changes are made, the revised terms and conditions shall be posted on this page.


Unless otherwise specified or opt-out in writing to our email address at [email protected], all clients and participants to any programs, including but not limited to courses, free and/or paid workshops organised by Preface agree and allow Preface to freely use all photography, film and sound material that has been created by Preface without further approval from the participant for promotional or educational purposes. These include but are not limited to all rights to images, footages, student’s and/or participant’s work.

Personal data may be collected and/or processed by Preface both within and outside Hong Kong mainly for the purpose of booking completion, product and/or service provision. Preface reserves the right to inform clients of any new offers, products and services which may be of interest to clients including but not limited to E-mail and SMS. Preface processes personal data in compliance with applicable data protection legislation. Please note that Preface reserves the right to change the courses eligible for earning Asia Miles or to be redeemed using Asia Miles at any time without any prior notice. For any seasonal or bonus promotional campaign with Asia Miles, please refer to the separate terms on Asia Miles official website.

Earning Asia Miles on Course Purchases:

For those without an Asia Miles membership account, please visit to sign up as an Asia Miles member (“Eligible Member”) for free.

Asia Miles (“Miles”) cannot be earned in conjunction with a gift-on-purchase or any other promotional offer.

Miles will be credited to Eligible Member’s Asia Miles account 6 to 8 weeks after each successful payment in full.

Eligible Members are responsible for ensuring the correct membership information is provided. Failure to comply or wrong/missing information will result in forfeiture of the right to earn Miles.

Miles cannot be earned for cancelled or refunded lessons, courses and boot camps.

Asia Miles Limited and Preface Holdings Limited reserve the right to amend any of these terms and conditions.

All matters and disputes will be subject to the final decision of Asia Miles Limited and Preface Holdings Limited.

Redeeming Courses using Asia Miles:

All class bookings using e-vouchers exchanged by Asia Miles should be made through email to [email protected]

The voucher code and the chosen course must be clearly indicated in the email for reference. Please specify the type of classes , either 1-on-1 or boot camp (for 1-on-1 classes, please specify the preferred date, time and location for the lesson).

Upon receipt of email, Preface shall reply regarding the enrolment logistics and final availability of the course via email within 24 business hours. You will receive a separate confirmation email when all aforesaid enrolment logistics is complete.

This voucher is non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash in part or full. No replacement will be issued if lost or expired.

This voucher cannot be used in conjunction with other promotional offers and is valid for a single transaction only. The voucher must be presented when booking for the service.

Preface retains the right to reject any voucher that has been tampered with or found in any way unacceptable.

Asia miles cannot be redeemed while using this offer.

All sales are final, products cannot be returned or exchanged.

All matters and disputes will be subject to the final decision of Asia Miles Limited and Preface Holdings Limited.
